Sonja Hofstetter

Sonja Hofstetter is an experienced professional in skills development and education, currently serving as the Head of Skills and Labour Market at Swisscontact since July 2016. In this role, Sonja leads initiatives in knowledge management, business development, and technical support while overseeing a team dedicated to conceptual development. Previous experience includes positions at Helvetas as an Advisor in Education and Vocational Skills Development and as a Program Officer, where Sonja focused on vocational education, particularly for girls and young women. Additional roles encompass research at Pädagogische Hochschule Bern and the University of Basel, teaching special needs education, and project coordination in ICT for under-resourced schools. Sonja Hofstetter holds a Master of Advanced Studies from ETH Zürich and a Master of Science from Stockholm University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Bern.
