Vlastimil Hošek has a diverse work experience in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Vlastimil started working as a technician at NT engineering in 2012, where they developed instruments for biological research. In 2014, they co-owned Drone Masters s.r.o, where they designed and built multirotor UAVs for various tasks. From 2015-2016, they managed a team at Studentský tým Chicken Wings. Vlastimil then worked at AVAS Colibri as a Lead Flight Systems Engineer from 2017-2018, where they designed and developed a VTOL unmanned aerial vehicle. At Honeywell, they worked in two roles from 2019-2021, as an Advanced Systems Engineer and Systems Engineer III. Their responsibilities involved leading the system engineering for multi-sensor integration on UAV for data collection and AI, development and integration of UAV mechanical and electronic components, analysis of autopilot performance, sensors, and RF electronics, and flight test planning and evaluation. Vlastimil worked as a Command and Control System Engineer - Flight Test at Lilium in 2022, where they led system design changes to enable further aircraft envelope expansions and performed day-to-day command and control flight test activities of advanced EVTOL aircraft. Currently, they are set to work as a Senior System Engineer at SwissDrones starting from 2023.
Vlastimil Hošek holds a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Brno University of Technology. Vlastimil also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. In 2014, they studied Space technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Vlastimil also has certifications as a Private Aircraft Pilot PPL(A) and as a Paraglider pilot, which they obtained from CAA Czech Republic and LAA Czech Republic respectively, in October and August 2021.
