Roger Wiget

Roger Wiget has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Roger began their career at ABB in 2009 as an Intern before moving on to ETH Zurich, where they worked as a Research Assistant from 2011 to 2016. In 2016, they joined AWK Group AG as a Consultant, leading ICT projects and writing reports until 2017. Roger then joined Swissgrid AG in 2018, starting as a Specialist in Product Development and TSO Markets Development. Roger was later promoted to Senior Specialist in Product Development and eventually became the Chief of Staff for the Business Unit Market. Currently, Roger holds the position of Head of Market and System Design at Swissgrid AG since March 2023.

In 1997, they graduated from Kantonsschule Luzern with a Matura degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics.

From 2005 to 2009, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at ETH Zürich.

In 2005, they also obtained a Master's degree in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zürich.

Roger'sacademic journey continued at ETH Zürich from 2011 to 2016 when they received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

In 2019, they attended the University of St.Gallen, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General.

In addition to their formal education, Roger obtained several certifications. In November 2016, they received the IPMA/D certification from the International Project Management Association (IPMA-NL). Roger also obtained an ITIL 3 Foundation certification from PEOPLECERT in the same year. In August 2016, they became an IREP Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering - Foundation Level certified by the International Requirements Engineering Board. Furthermore, they completed the HERMES 5 Advanced certification from TÜV SÜD in February 2017, and the ITIL 4 Foundation in IT Service Management certification from PeopleCert in June 2019.
