Francois Vuille

Francois Vuille serves as the Director of the Energy Department for the Etat de Vaud since 2017 and is also a member of the Energy Commission. Vuille holds multiple positions, including being a member of the Board of Directors and the Strategy and Corporate Development Committee at Romande Energie, and serving on the advisory board of the Moving Mountains forum. Additional roles include membership in the strategic committee of the Solar Impulse Foundation, participation in the Scientific Council of AEE SUISSE, and founding Drawdown Switzerland. Vuille is associated with EPFL as a mentor for the cleantech sector, an invited lecturer, and held roles including Executive Director and Director of Development at the Energy Center. Board memberships include the Fondation Internationale du Film sur l'Energie FIFEL and CleantechAlps, as well as participation in the Innovation Commission of Swisspower AG. Vuille's educational background comprises a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Cape Town and dual BSc and MSc degrees in Physics, alongside an MSc in Energy Engineering from EPFL.
