Dr.-Ing. Alexandros Yfantis

Dr.-Ing. Alexandros Yfantis has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Dr.-Ing. Alexandros is currently serving as the President of HABIO - Hellenic Association of biogas producers since February 2020. Previously, they held the position of President & Managing Director at SYCHEM Group starting from 2001. Prior to that, Dr. Alexandros Yfantis was the Chief Executive Officer at Syncor China from 2000 to January 2019. Dr.-Ing. Alexandros also worked as a General Manager in the CP Department at EPE SA from 1999 to 2006. Dr. Alexandros Yfantis has also worked as a Researcher in the field of corrosion protection and material science at the Laboratory of Corrosion Protection, Dept. of Chem. Engineering, Section of Material Science and Engineering, NTUA. Additionally, they have a consultancy role as an Owner and Consultant Engineer at Yfantis Engineering Ltd, involved in various projects related to cathodic protection, corrosion prevention, and water treatment.

Dr.-Ing. Alexandros Yfantis has an impressive education history. Dr.-Ing. Alexandros received their Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Cottbus between 1996 and 2000. Their field of study during this time was the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science, Section of Applied Physics II – Sensors.

Prior to that, from 1991 to 1996, Dr. Yfantis attended the National Technical University of Athens, where they obtained their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering.

During their time as a student, Dr. Yfantis also gained valuable laboratory training experience through exchange programs. In 1995, they completed laboratory training at the Max Planck Institute of Goettingen in Germany, specifically in the Department of Reaction Kinetics. In 1994, they completed laboratory training at the University of Tuebingen in Germany, in the Department of Physical Chemistry, Laboratory of Surface Analysis and Sensors.

Additionally, Dr.-Ing. Alexandros Yfantis holds several certifications in the field of engineering. Dr.-Ing. Alexandros is a Licensed Chemical Design Engineer (category 18), Grade A, certified by the Greek Ministry of Public Works and Environment. Dr.-Ing. Alexandros is also a Licensed Energy Design Engineer (category 14), Grade A, certified by the same institution. Furthermore, they hold a license as an Engineer from the Technical Chamber of Greece.
