Maria Werner is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience spanning several decades. Since 1991, Maria has worked at Sydsvenskan, serving as the editor for the "Inpå livet" sections and previously holding roles as chief and deputy chief for the domestic news desk, as a political reporter in Stockholm and Malmö, and as a reporter for various editorial departments. Maria also worked at Regeringskansliet in 1996 as an editor in the foreign affairs press service. Earlier career experiences include positions at Arbetet and Smålänningen, as well as a seasonal role at Brio's toy museum. Maria holds multiple degrees, including a Master's in European Journalism Studies from the University of Wales and training in data journalism at Södertörn University.
