Daniel Best

Daniel Best has a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, with a focus on drug discovery and development. Daniel has worked as an Associate Principal Scientist, Lead Scientist, and Senior Scientist at Sygnature Discovery, where they have led various projects. Prior to that, they held postdoctoral positions at Université de Rennes 1, The University of Nottingham, and The University of Edinburgh, where they conducted research in the fields of enediyne payloads, C-H functionalization, and palladium and copper-catalysis. Daniel also completed their DPhil in synthetic organic chemistry at the University of Oxford, where they synthesized polyhydroxylated alkaloids for glycosidase inhibition. Additionally, they have industrial experience as an Industrial Placement Student at Dextra Laboratories Limited and academic placement experience at the University of Akureyri. Daniel Best has a strong track record of publications in high impact journals and has demonstrated their ability to lead projects, develop innovative methodologies, and communicate effectively with colleagues and students.

Daniel Best completed their education at the University of Oxford. Daniel pursued a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from 2003 to 2007, followed by a Doctorate in Organic Chemistry from 2007 to 2011.
