Ramarao Parella

Ramarao Parella, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist at Sygnature Discovery since December 2020, specializing in drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, and synthetic route development. Key responsibilities include hit to lead optimization, maintaining chemical inventory, and adhering to health and safety policies, while actively collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams to advance drug discovery projects. Prior to this role, Ramarao served as a Chemistry Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Texas at San Antonio, focusing on modularly designed organocatalyzed reactions. Earlier experience includes working as a Research and Development Chemist at Smilax Laboratories Limited, where responsibilities included the design and synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and the characterization of novel compounds. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, as well as degrees from Andhra University and Acharya Nagarjuna University.
