Charlene Swartz

Charlene Swartz started their career as a Trainee Accountant at Deloitte in 2003 and worked their way up to the role of Senior Audit Manager before leaving in 2013. In the same year, they joined Sygnia Asset Management as the COO for Retail Investments and held this position until 2019. From 2019 to 2020, they served as the Head of Operations at Sygnia before being promoted to Head of Strategic Projects in 2021. Prior to their professional career, they worked as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Cape Town in 2002.

Charlene Swartz completed their secondary education at Edgemead High School from 1992 to 1996. Charlene then attended the University of Cape Town from 1997 to 2000, where they obtained a degree in BBusSc (Finance Honours) with a focus on Finance and Accounting. In 2001, they continued their studies at the University of Cape Town and completed a BCom Honours in Accounting. In the same year, they also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the same institution. From 2005 to 2008, Charlene Swartz pursued a Master's degree in MCom (Accounting) at the University of Cape Town. Additionally, in 2005, they completed the CA(SA) qualification from SAICA.
