Raphael Cendrillon

Chief AI Officer at Syllable

Raphael Cendrillon is the current Chief AI Officer at Syllable. Raphael has also worked as a Tech Lead Manager at Google, where they led several teams developing large scale machine learning models in a range of fields, including early disease detection for Verily, wireless network optimization for Google Fiber, and ad targeting for Google Search. Before joining Google, Cendrillon worked as a Principal Engineer at ASSIA Inc., where they developed a large scale data collection, analysis and optimization system for broadband networks. Raphael also worked as a Tech Lead at Huawei, where they led an R&D team developing algorithms for broadband network optimization. During their time at Huawei, Cendrillon developed the world's first MIMO DSL prototype to achieve fiber speeds (1 Gbps) over twisted pair. Raphael also evangelized network optimization to telco CEOs / CTOs in the United States, Europe and Asia, and defined the strategy for standards activity. As a result of their work, several of their algorithms became core parts of the ANSI and ITU standards.

Raphael Cendrillon is a Research Fellow at Princeton University. Raphael was a Visiting Researcher at Stanford University. Raphael has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Queensland.
