Ritwik Kumar

Ritwik Kumar is currently an Undergraduate Researcher at the Whiteson Lab at UC Irvine, focusing on utilizing bacteriophages to combat antibiotic-resistant infections. In addition to research, Ritwik serves as an Emergency Medical Technician, providing prehospital care at concert venues and sports arenas. Ritwik also holds a position as a Marketing & Events Student Assistant at the UCI School of Biological Sciences and is the Founder of irvineSTEMsesh, an organization that promotes hands-on STEM learning for K-12 students. With a background in Taekwondo, Ritwik has trained since 2012 and achieved a 2nd Degree Senior Black Belt. Ritwik is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology at UC Irvine, expected to graduate in 2026.
