Jingkai Chen

Principal Robotics Engineer at Symbotic

Jingkai Chen has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Jingkai is currently working as a Senior Robotics Engineer at Symbotic since March 2023. Prior to this, they served as an Applied Scientist II at Amazon Global Robotics from August 2022 to March 2023.

Jingkai also has research experience, having worked as a Research Assistant at MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) from September 2016 to August 2022. During this time, they were supervised by Prof. Brian C. Williams and worked on various projects.

Before their time at CSAIL, Jingkai worked as a Research Assistant at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research from October 2015 to May 2016, where they were advised by Dr. Dimitrios Pantazis. Jingkai'sproject focused on data mining in brain signals for object recognition.

Jingkai's work experience also includes a brief research assistant role at the University of California, Los Angeles from July 2015 to September 2015. Overall, their experience combines robotics engineering, applied science, and research in the field of computer science and artificial intelligence.

Jingkai Chen completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Control Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University between the years 2012 and 2016. Jingkai then pursued a Master of Science (MS) in AeroAstro at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2019. Currently, Jingkai Chen is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in AeroAstro at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they started in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2022.
