Jacob Anderson

Jacob Anderson has a diverse work experience, starting as an Audit Intern at the Washington State Auditor's Office in 2003. Jacob later worked as a Finance & Accounting Intern at SEL in 2004. In 2005, they joined Protiviti as a Senior Consultant, where they performed internal audit and business risk consulting engagements. In 2008, they moved on to become a Senior Auditor at Symetra, where they performed financial and operational audits and helped create processes and tools for the Audit Services Department. Jacob then transitioned to roles as an Actuarial Associate and Senior Actuarial Associate in Symetra's Life Actuarial Department, where they were responsible for valuation, financial analysis, and pricing of life insurance products. From 2015 to 2019, they served as an AVP in Enterprise Risk Management at Symetra, before taking on the role of AVP & Senior Actuary in 2019. Jacob is currently serving as the VP & Corporate Actuary at Symetra.

Jacob Anderson graduated from Washington State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Cum Laude) with a focus on Accounting and Finance. Jacob has obtained several additional certifications throughout their career, including Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), Certified Investments and Derivatives Auditor (CIDA), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
