Kotaro Makino has extensive work experience in software development and engineering roles. Kotaro began their career as a Software Engineer at Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd., where they designed and developed an online transaction system. Kotaro later joined Accenture as a Consultant, where they developed multi-language support functions and conducted integration tests. Kotaro then advanced to Senior Consultant and Manager roles, leading teams to design and build web-based systems and technical architectures. After their tenure at Accenture, they worked as a Development Manager at Pacific Software Publishing, supervising developers and coordinating with the sales department. Makino also worked at Microsoft Corporation as a Software Test Engineer and Japanese Data Analyst, improving data quality and standardization for the Japanese subsidiary. Kotaro later joined Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer, working on MS Office Share-Point, SQL Server, and Master Data Management. In their most recent positions, Makino worked as a Software Development Engineer at Getty Images, where they designed and maintained web-based user information systems, and at Russell Investments as a Senior Software Development Engineer, leading efforts to refactor existing applications. Kotaro is currently employed as a Lead Software Developer at Symetra, where they lead a team in designing and maintaining an insurance policy information system.

Kotaro Makino attended Waseda University from 1984 to 1988, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
