Terrie Reed has a long and varied work experience in the healthcare and informatics field. Terrie began their career in 1999 as a Webmaster for Aspen Systems Corporation and a Research Associate for The Scientific Consulting Group, Inc. In 2000, they became a Clinical Knowledge Consultant for The MEDSTAT Group, Inc. In 2002, they moved on to become the MedSun Program Manager for CODA Research, Inc. From 2013 to 2014, they served as a UDI Policy Advisor for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. In 2004, they became the Associate Director for Informatics for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center. From 2014 to 2015, they were the Clinical Research Informatics Senior Project Leader for the Duke Clinical Research Institute. In 2019, they created Reed McCullough, LLC, where they served as Executive Officer, offering strategic advice to those wishing to roll out US and Global UDI adoption efforts. Currently, they are the Chief Strategy Officer and Director of Partner Relationships for Symmetric Health Solutions, where they are building partner relationships in the United States and internationally with policy makers, researchers, standards development organizations and others to improve the clinical integration of the healthcare supply chain through data transparency.

Terrie Reed began their education at Lanphier High School, graduating in 1977. Terrie then attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 1981 and a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering in 1982. Terrie also earned a Master's Certification in Project Management from The George Washington University School of Business. In 2015, they began pursuing a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science at Indiana University-Purdue University, but only completed a partial degree.
