Brian Aldous

Resident Designer at Symphony Space

Brian Aldous is an experienced professional in the fields of lighting design and education. Currently serving as Adjunct Faculty in the Theatre Department at the City College of New York since 2010, Aldous has also been engaged in lighting design and consulting with Technical Artistry since 1995. As a resident designer at Symphony Space since 1994 and a lighting designer for the Dance Program at Bard College since 1993, Aldous has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to the performing arts. Aldous holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Columbia College, Columbia University, completed between 1976 and 1980.

Symphony Space

A two-theatre, multi-disciplinary performing arts center located on the Upper West Side in New York City. Programs include music, dance, theatre, literature-in-performance, film, kids'​ shows, and arts education. Signature programs include Selected Shorts, which is carried on 150 public radio stations nationwide; Wall to Wall, an annual, free 12 hour marathon concert; Bloomsday on Broadway, the annual celebration of James Joyce's Ulysses on June 16.
