Harold Burgess

Harold Burgess is a seasoned lighting designer and educator with extensive experience in the theatrical arts. Currently serving as a Resident Artist at Round House Theatre since February 2022, Burgess has held various roles at the University of Maryland, College Park since 2003, including Director of the College Park Scholars Arts Program and Assistant Professor of Lighting Design in the Department of Theatre. With a solid foundation in lighting design, earned through a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatrical Design from the University of Maryland, Burgess has worked as a Resident Lighting Designer for Everyman Theatre and has provided freelance lighting design services in the Washington/Baltimore region since 1998. Additionally, Burgess has contributed to the operations of Merriweather Post Pavilion as House Manager since 1991.
