EMEA Lead - Business Development at Symphony

Mark Higgins has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Mark most recently worked at Symphony as the EMEA Lead - Business Development since October 2020. Prior to that, they spent five years at Intercontinental Exchange as a Manager from April 2015 to October 2020. Before that, Mark worked at ADSS as the SVP - London/NY, where they played a key role in establishing the company's presence in London and developing relationships with key institutions in the US and UK from July 2013 to March 2015. Mark also had an extensive career at Bloomberg, where they held various senior sales roles, including running new business strategy for Bloomberg in Africa from 2008 to 2010, serving as the key account director for Bloomberg's 9th largest client in EMEA: ICAP from 2010 to 2012, and leading new business strategy for Bloomberg in Zurich and German speaking cantons, including working with large hedge fund startups from 2012 to 2013. Mark started their career at UBS Investment Bank as a Trade Support Analyst from September 2006 to September 2007, and they also worked briefly as an Office Manager at Mauve Corporate Systems in the Sydney branch from June 2002 to September 2002.

Mark Higgins attended Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr for an unspecified period of time. Mark then went on to study at Monmouth School from 1999 to 2001. Following this, they attended the University of Exeter from 2002 to 2005, where they earned a 2:1 degree in Economics. In 2005-2006, Mark attended the University of Cambridge and focused on Marketing/Managing Information, but did not earn a specific degree. Lastly, from 2017 to 2022, they pursued an MSc in Leadership, Strategy, and Change at the University of Bristol.
