Dr. Edison Diaz

Dr. Edison Diaz has extensive experience in the fragrances industry, with a focus on innovation and technical expertise. Dr. Edison currently holds the position of Global Technology Innovation Director at Symrise AG since May 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Fragrance Director Applied Innovation EAME from June 2018 to October 2022. From June 2015 to May 2018, Dr. Diaz held the role of Director Technical Innovation at Symrise AG, where they utilized their knowledge of synthetic fragrance ingredients and essential oils, as well as their understanding of sensory and analytical performance of aroma components and fragrances. Dr. Edison also served as the Director Competence Center New Molecules from September 2011 to May 2015, where they selected and implemented new fragrance ingredients and created strategies for launching new aroma compounds. Before joining Symrise AG, Dr. Diaz worked as the Head of Lab market sample analysis from July 2008 to August 2011, where they established a fragrance analysis laboratory and developed an online platform for transparency. Prior to their roles at Symrise AG, they worked as a Scientific Assistant at Hannover Medical School from March 2005 to June 2008, and as a Quality Control Chemist at Grünenthal - Technandina from July 2001 to December 2001.

Dr. Edison Diaz completed their education at the following institutions:

- From 2005 to 2007, they attended Leibniz Universität Hannover and obtained a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.

- From 2002 to 2004, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry at Leibniz Universität Hannover.

- In 2001, they earned a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from Central University of Quito, Ecuador.
