Koen van Renterghem

Principal Engineer at Synamedia

Koen Van Renterghem has extensive experience in the field of engineering, with a focus on firmware development and research. Koen began their career as a Research Engineer at Ghent University in 2002, where they worked until 2007. In 2007, they joined Cisco's Service Provider Video Technology Group as a Firmware Development Engineer, a role they held for over a decade. In 2018, Koen joined Synamedia, initially as a Development Engineer and later as a Principal Engineer.

Koen Van Renterghem obtained their PhD in Electrical Engineering from Ghent University in the years 2002-2007. Prior to that, they completed their M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering at the same institution from 1997 to 2002. Koen's education journey began with their completion of ASO Wetenschappen-Wiskunde at College O.-L.-V.-ten-Doorn Eeklo from 1995 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, Koen has also received certifications in various topics, including Designing with Verilog, FPGA Power Optimization, High Level Synthesis with Vivado HLS, Optimizing OpenCL for Altera FPGAs, and Parallel Computing with OpenCL from institutions such as Xilinx and Altera.
