Usama Fayyad

Usama Fayyad is an accomplished technology executive, advisor, and board member with a wealth of experience in data science, AI, and healthcare. Usama is currently an advisor at Synapse Partners. Fayyad previously served as co-founder and CTO of OODA Health, transforming healthcare by bringing AI and technology to streamline claims administration and a modern retail experience to patients, providers, and health plans. Prior to that, they were interim CTO/Advisory CTO at Stella.ai, which brings the power of AI and data science to matching candidates with job openings. Fayyad has also served on the Board Advisory Committee on IT & Resilience at Nationwide Building Society and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Data Science Institute at Imperial College London. Usama is a chairman and founder of Open Insights and an adjunct professor in computer science at the University of Technology Sydney.

Usama Fayyad completed their education with a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan. Prior to that, they obtained their B.S.E. in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the same school. Fayyad also holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics and an M.S.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. Usama started their educational career with a British GCE in High School from the National Orthodox School. Fayyad is also a certified Professional Engineer (PE) from the National Society of Professional Engineers.
