Heather Brundage has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Starting in 2012, they co-founded Swish Inc and served as the COO. In 2013, they worked as a Business Development Manager at Maker Media, where they managed partnerships and developed retail strategies. From 2014 to 2015, they worked at Apportable as a Business Development professional, focusing on product management, pricing strategies, and generating sales.

In 2014, they also became a Mentor at PCH International - Highway 1, a role they held until 2017. Heather continued their mentoring activities at Techstars as a Mentor for the Startup Next Bay Area program from 2016 to 2017.

Simultaneously, from 2010 to 2016, they worked as a self-employed Consultant, providing services in business, product, prototyping, and manufacturing.

Heather joined Particle in 2015, initially as the Head of Operations and Partnerships, where they established systems and procedures, negotiated carrier rates, and created a successful reseller program. Heather then transitioned to roles as the Head of Business Development, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development, and Director of IoT Business Consulting.

In 2018, they joined Synapse Product Development as the Director of IoT Business, a role they held until 2022. In February 2022, they were promoted to Senior Director, Strategy and Innovation, where they currently work.

In addition to their professional roles, Heather has also been involved in various mentorship activities. Heather served as a Mentor at Sustainable Ocean Alliance and was an IoT Advisory Council member at CompTIA from 2019 to 2021.

Heather Brundage (she/her) pursued their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering in the field of Ocean Engineering from 2002 to 2006. Following this, they went on to complete their Masters of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Mechanical/Ocean Engineering, Design, and Entrepreneurship at MIT from 2007 to 2010. During their time at MIT, Heather also participated in a program at the Sea Education Association in 2004, although no degree or field of study was specified for this experience. In addition to their academic achievements, Heather obtained an Amateur Radio License under the Technician Class from the Federal Communications Commission in November 2013.
