Preetam Anbukarasu

Preetam Anbukarasu is the Chief Executive Officer at Synapsis Medical Technologies Inc., where the focus is on developing sensors and algorithms for cardiovascular disease risk assessment and mitigation since March 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Alberta from March 2019 to March 2023, where data studies were conducted to validate next-generation cardiovascular screening tools. Previous roles also encompass positions as a Research Engineer at Coloursmith Labs Inc., and various research and assistant roles at the University of Alberta, where smart packaging materials and biodegradation behaviors of biopolymers were developed. Preetam Anbukarasu also interned at Preza Technologies in technology development and worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Tokyo, recognized as one of 21 selected students worldwide for that opportunity. Preetam holds a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy.
