Juan Gomez has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Juan currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Synaptic Aviation since 2020. Prior to this, Juan worked as the Executive Vice President of Finance at Gama Aviation from 2019 to 2020.

Juan's extensive experience at American Airlines includes various leadership roles. Juan served as the Managing Director of Airport Operations from 2017 to 2019, where they were responsible for customer care and operational efficiency at Miami Airport. During this time, they also held the position of Director of Hub Finance and Administration from 2015 to 2017, overseeing financial analysis, budgeting, and cost controls for the airline's largest international gateway.

Before that, Juan held the position of Director of Latin America Airport Affairs from 2014 to 2015, where they directed airport strategies and negotiations for American Airlines in the Latin American region. Juan also served as Principal of Airport Affairs from 2012 to 2014, responsible for planning and executing strategies related to airport contracts and facilities.

Juan Gomez obtained an MBA degree in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 1998 and 2000. Juan also pursued a degree in Business Administration and Finance at CESA from 1992 to 1997. In 1991, Juan completed a program in Aviation, specifically Commercial Pilot training, at Aerocentro. Later, in 2011 and 2012, they engaged in further studies in Business Administration and Management, obtaining a Post MBA degree from INCAE Business School. In 2019, Juan also attended Harvard University's Executive Education program, specializing in Advanced Negotiations and Analytics.
