Lalit Ghatpande, (P.E.)

Lead Engineer at SynchroGrid

Lalit Ghatpande has a comprehensive background in power system engineering and protection. Lalit began their career at KEC International Ltd. as a Graduate Engineer Trainee, where they designed various types of low tension power cables and performed calculations related to cable performance. After that, Lalit worked at Michigan Technological University in the Power System Protection Lab, where they focused on developing protective relaying schemes and performing coordination studies using equipment such as the DOBLE 6150.

Currently, Lalit is employed at SynchroGrid as a Senior Protection Engineer. In this role, they are responsible for calculating relay settings for various protection mechanisms, conducting power system studies, and supporting the development of relay diagrams and schematics. Lalit is also involved in NERC compliance, arc flash analysis, and misoperation analysis of relays. Overall, Lalit Ghatpande's work experience demonstrates their expertise in power system protection and their ability to analyze and optimize relay performance.

Lalit Ghatpande (P.E.) completed their education in the field of electrical engineering with a focus on power systems. From 2009 to 2013, they attended AISSMS IOIT, University of Pune, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical. Later, from 2015 to 2017, Lalit pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) at Michigan Technological University. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Live Training from IEEE in October 2018, and became a Professional Engineer (PE) certified by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in February 2020.
