Tim Denison

Advisor at Synchron

Tim Denison is currently an advisor at Synchron and has over 20 years of experience in the engineering field. Tim started their career as a lab tech at the University of Chicago where they worked for four years before moving on to Analog Devices. At Analog Devices, they were a senior design engineer focused on interface circuits for MEMS-based airbag accelerometers and electrometers. After four years at Analog Devices, they took on the role of Vice President of Research and Core Technology with the Implantable Systems R&D team at Medtronic. Tim spent 14 years in this role before moving on to Brown University in February 2013 where they became an adjunct assistant professor providing coaching in the development and translation of neural engineering systems. Tim has also served as a board member and treasurer for FOCI, Minnesota Center for Glass Arts from 2010 to 2013.

Denison received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Tim also completed a Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School. Their undergraduate degree is in Physics from the University of Chicago.
