Kara Quick

Executive Editorial Director/Senior VP, Medical & Editorial Services at Synchrony Communications

Kara Quick has a wealth of experience in the medical and editorial services field. Kara began their career in 1999 as Managing Editor at Medical World Communications, where they managed the editorial workflow for a monthly cardiology publication and heavily edited manuscripts from authors speaking various primary languages. In 2002, they became Director of Clinical Publications at Advanced Studies in Medicine, where they managed CME enduring materials from inception to publication in the official CME journal of Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. In 2005, they moved to ApotheCom as Senior Editor and Program Manager of Scientific Services, where they edited and proofread primary research articles and slides for physician audiences. From 2006 to 2010, they were Editorial Director and Senior Medical Writer at CONNEXION Healthcare, where they wrote and edited primary research abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for presentation at scientific and medical congresses or publication in scientific journals. Finally, from 2010 to present, they have been Executive Editorial Director and Senior VP of Medical and Editorial Services at Synchrony Group, where they are responsible for establishing and evaluating departmental and company-wide policies and procedures to ensure scalable, sustainable growth.

Kara Quick attended Sayreville War Memorial High School and subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from The College of New Jersey in 1997. Kara also holds a certification in Editor in the Life Sciences (ELS) from the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences.
