Howard Coale

Howard Coale has a diverse and extensive work experience in various positions related to technology, data visualization, and user experience. Howard is currently the Chief Experience Officer at Syndesis Health, a company that focuses on medical, genomic, and drug development research. Prior to that, Howard served as the President and Director of Data Visualization at Heliotrope. Howard also worked at Publicis Sapient as the Group Creative Director of Experience Design from 2016 to 2020.

Before joining Publicis Sapient, Howard was the North American Practice Lead of Data Visualization at Sapient from 2011 to 2016. Howard co-founded Tacitus in 2005 and served as the 3D Design Lead, where the company aimed to apply immersive world technologies and 3D design to complex data visualization and analysis problems. Howard also held the position of SVP Technology & Design at Digitas Health and Managing Director of User Experience at Scient.

Earlier in their career, Howard worked as the Executive Creative Director at Luminant Worldwide, Creative Director at Interactive 8, and Computer Graphics Lead at Booz Allen & Hamilton. Howard has a strong background in technology, design, and user experience, with extensive experience spanning over three decades.

Howard Coale attended Cornell University from 1976 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. Howard'sfield of study during this period was English Literature and Philosophy. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at the School of Visual Arts from 1985 to 1987. Here, they earned a Master of Fine Arts degree, specializing in Illustration as Journalism.
