Gerben Laar

Gerben Laar has extensive work experience in the banking industry. Gerben started their career at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in 1995 and held multiple positions within IT, Finance, and Operations until 2004. From 2004 to 2006, they served as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Gerben then moved on to become the Head of Process and Change Management Securities from 2007 to 2009, followed by the Head of Equity Markets Operations NL from 2009 to 2015. Gerben also worked as the Head of Business Management Markets Operations from 2015 to 2016. In 2018, they joined Synechron as the Associate Director and Practice Lead for their Finance & Risk Transformation practice.

Gerben Laar completed their education at several prestigious institutions. Gerben attended the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2017 to 2019 and obtained a degree in Register Controller (Executive Master of Finance & Control). Prior to this, in 2003 and 2004, they also studied Financial Management at the same university. Gerben Laar began their academic journey in 1985 at the University of Twente, where they pursued a degree in Business Administration, completing it in 1991. Before their university endeavors, Gerben Laar attended the Kath. Gymnasium Rolduc from 1979 to 1985.
