Ray Forslund has a strong background in pharmaceutical development and project management. Ray started their career at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in 2005, where they served as a Scientist and took on various roles, including Project Manager for the HCV 2 Program. Ray successfully led the development of a second generation HCV drug and optimized a key process to reduce cost. Ray then joined Ironwood Pharmaceuticals in 2008, where they held positions as Senior Development Scientist and Senior Manager of Operations, overseeing medicinal chemistry and clinical pharmaceutical development. At Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Ray managed relationships with CROs and CMOs and collaborated with various departments. In 2015, they joined Laurus Synthesis Inc. as a Senior Director of Project Management, where they were responsible for creating project plans, monitoring progress, and managing client deliverables. Currently, Ray is the SVP, Head of CMC Development & Project Management at Syner-G BioPharma Group, a position they started in January 2021. With a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and an MBA, Ray brings a strong scientific and business background to their work.
Ray Forslund completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry at Hamilton College from 1994 to 1998. Ray then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Organic Chemistry at the University of Illinois Chicago, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003. In 2004, Ray obtained a Postdoc in Organic Chemistry from the University of Maryland. Ray later attended Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business from 2009 to 2011, where they earned an MBA with a focus on Business, Entrepreneurship, and Pharmaceuticals.
