Richard Wichmann Jr.

Richard Wichmann Jr. has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Richard is currently serving as the Director of Compliance at Synergistix, Inc. since May 2020. Prior to this role, they were a Privacy Advisor on the Department of Homeland Security's Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee, where they provided assistance on privacy-related matters.

From 2018 to 2019, Richard worked as the Director of Data Privacy at Carnival Corporation. Before that, they held the position of Privacy and Risk Officer at Bupa Latin America from 2010 to 2018, where they implemented privacy and security controls and ensured compliance with HIPAA and other data protection regulations.

In addition, Richard has experience as the Owner/Consultant at Associated Compliance Experts, Inc., where they provided regulatory compliance consulting services. Richard also worked as a Privacy Officer, Regulatory Compliance Manager, and Compliance Manager at Assurant Solutions from 2002 to 2009.

Richard's career began at American Bankers Insurance Group, where they worked as an Operations Analyst for over a decade. Throughout their career, they have gained expertise in privacy, risk management, data protection, compliance, and advisory roles.

Richard Wichmann Jr. completed their Master's degree in Demography and Population Studies at Florida State University from 1984 to 1990. Richard also holds several certifications in information privacy, including the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) obtained in March 2007, the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) obtained in July 2017, and the Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) obtained in August 2017.
