Derek Meixell

Derek Meixell has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Derek is currently working at Synergy IT Solutions as the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Professional Services. Prior to this, Derek worked at Binary Sharks as the President and Technologist. Derek also served as a Town Planning Board Member at the Town of Webster, NY. Derek has held various positions at the Technology Executive Network of WNY, including Board of Directors - Finance and Executive Director. Derek has also worked at NimbleUser as the Director of Client Services, Quality Vision International as a Project Manager, Gafachi Telecom as the Chief Operating Officer, The Layer 8 Group, Inc. as the Chief Information Officer and Co-Owner, Aztek Computer Solutions, Inc. as the IT Services Manager, and Corning Incorporated as a Co Op. Through their roles, Derek has gained experience in leadership, project management, and technology solutions.

Derek Meixell attended Rochester Institute of Technology from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and Political Science. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained certifications including the "Doing Discovery Practitioner" from Great Demo! in April 2023, and the "Leadership Accelerator" from Learning @ Morning Brew in November 2022.
