Roddy Abaya

Roddy Abaya has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources. Roddy is currently serving as the Philippine Partner for Umwelt.AI, a role they started in 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Partner and Managing Director for SynFiny Advisors, also in 2021. In the same year, they founded their own consulting firm called RM Abaya Consulting, where they provided HR advice and solutions to organizations.

Before venturing into independent consulting, Roddy held various HR positions, including Chief Human Resources Advisor at Tenet Healthcare from 2020 to 2021, and Strategic HR Consultant as a self-employed individual from 2018 to 2020. Roddy also served as VP and Division HR Manager for Ginebra San Miguel and San Miguel Purefoods Corp.

During their tenure at IBM Daksh - Concentrix in 2014, they were the Head of HR, and they later transitioned to IBM where they held the roles of HR Business Partner and Country HR Operations Lead for IBM Business Services. In 2012, they became the HR Business Partner Lead for IBM Business Services.

Throughout their career, Roddy has focused on employee engagement, HR strategy development, and transformation, demonstrating their expertise in providing strategic HR direction to organizations.

Roddy Abaya attended the University of the Philippines from 1980 to 1984, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Prior to that, from 1977 to 1980, they attended Ateneo de Manila University, where they completed their high school education and obtained a high school diploma.
