Bill Cairns

Bill Cairns is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in drug discovery and biology, currently serving as Senior Director of Biology, Integrated Drug Discovery at Syngene International Limited since March 2023. Previously, Bill held the position of Director of Drug Discovery at Entact Bio, focusing on drug target programs utilizing bifunctional molecules. Bill's long tenure at GSK spanned over 23 years, where roles included Senior Director of External Alliances and Portfolio Delivery, leading initiatives in functional genomics and the transition of projects into drug discovery pipelines. Additional leadership positions at GSK involved advancements in genome editing, target validation, and assay development. Bill holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Endocrinology from Karolinska Institutet and a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from the University of Glasgow.
