Jochen Schmidt

Jochen Schmidt is an experienced customs and foreign trade professional with a comprehensive background in various leadership roles. Currently serving as the EAME Customs & Foreign Trade Manager at Syngenta since December 2019, Jochen has held prominent positions including Head of Customs Operations at Bayer and Owner/Customs Advisor at Das Zollkontor. Prior to these roles, Jochen was a Partner and Senior Manager at PwC, and CEO of kampus GmbH. Additional experience includes serving as Director of Customs Affairs EMEA at LSG Sky Chefs and Manager of Customs at KPMG. Jochen’s career began as a Customs Officer with the German customs authority. Jochen holds a Diplom Finanzwirt (Zoll) degree from Fachhochschule des Bundes - Fachbereich Finanzen, completed in 1993.
