John Gruetzner

COO, SVP Business Development & Partnerships at Syngrafii

John joined Syngrafii to oversee global business development and strategic partnerships. John has a diverse range of skills related to conducting business in Asia including market entry and sales development, investment advisory, capital raising and corporate government engagement strategies. He is still the non-Executive Chairman of Intercedent, a Canadian business and investment advisory firm founded in 1988 focused on Asia with offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Before joining Intercedent in 1991, Mr. Gruetzner served as the head of the Canada China Business Council in Beijing. Mr. Gruetzner has also worked for the National Broadcasting Corporation, De Laurentis Entertainment, and Filmline.

John Gruetzner received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto and studied Mandarin Chinese at the University of Nankai in Tianjin. He has lived and worked, prior to returning to Canada, in Asia for over 35 years.

John is a Director on a number of public and private sector Boards. He has and continues to lecture in Business Schools and contributes articles to a number of publications on international business.
