Gianluca Capuano

Gianluca Capuano has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over multiple industries. Gianluca currently holds the position of CFO at Gruppo SYNLAB Italia, a role they have been in since 2022. Before that, they worked at Janssen Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) as the Finance Director from 2019 to 2022, where they were responsible for major planning cycles, target setting, and strategic communication with key stakeholders.

Prior to that, Gianluca served as the Chief Financial Officer, Italy - Diagnostic Imaging at Affidea from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they were a board member and co-pilot to the Country Manager, leading a diverse team of professionals across Finance, Procurement, Payroll, Legal, and IT.

From 2013 to 2017, Gianluca worked at AbbVie, first as the Finance Director, The Netherlands - Biotech and later as the Finance Director, Europe South - Pharma at Abbott from 2009 to 2012. In these positions, they were responsible for finance and operations, as well as supporting the leadership alignment and launch of new products. Gianluca also led various initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, implementing new ERP systems, and improving financial performance.

Gianluca's earlier experiences include roles at Abbott, where they served as the Controller commercial, Italy and as the Plant Controller - Pharma | Chemical. Gianluca also worked as a Controller - Packaging at IRPLAST S.p.A.

Their career began at Hyperion Solutions as a Senior Consultant, where they oversaw the implementation of planning and reporting systems for clients. Gianluca also worked as an Auditor Senior at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

In 1984-1989, they attended Liceo Classico "T. Tasso" - Salerno, where they pursued their secondary education and studied subjects such as literature, Latin, Greek, and history.

From 1989 to 1994, Gianluca Capuano attended Luiss Guido Carli University, where they earned a Master's degree in Economics & Business Studies.

In 1995-1996, they enrolled in LUISS Business School and completed a post-graduate specialization in Auditing and Accounting.

In 1996, Gianluca Capuano obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) degree from the CPA program. This program involved studying accounting, audit, and tax subjects. This certification was granted by the Italian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors.

In 2007-2008, Gianluca Capuano attended LUISS Business School again, this time for an Executive MBA degree focusing on Pharma Administration.

In addition to their formal education, Gianluca Capuano obtained a certification named "Institute of chartered accountants Italy - CPA" from the Italian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors in June 1996.
