Ville Remes

Ville Remes has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Ville has most recently served as the CEO of SYNLAB Suomi since July 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Director of Services at the same company, where they oversaw service development and site network activities from September 2019 to June 2022.

Before joining SYNLAB Suomi, Ville worked at Helsingin ja Uudenmaan sairaanhoitopiiri – Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) as the Surgeon-in-Chief of the Joint Reconstruction Unit for a few months in 2019.

In their previous tenure at Pihlajalinna, Ville held various positions including Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Business Director of Private Hospitals, Business Director of Diagnostics, and Business Director of Private Clinics between 2013 and 2019.

Ville began their career at the Helsinki University Central Hospital, starting as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon in 2005 and then serving as the Orthopedic Surgeon-in-Chief from 2005 to 2013.

Ville's expertise lies in orthopedic surgery, particularly in hip and knee arthroplasties. Ville is also actively engaged in the field of medical science.

Ville Remes began their education journey in 1989 at Etelä-Tapiola High School, where they completed their Matriculation examination in 1992. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Helsinki and studied Medicine from 1992 to 1998, earning their M.D. degree. In 2004, Ville joined the University of Helsinki again, this time as an Associate Professor. In 2013, they briefly attended Aalto University, where they pursued studies in Johtaminen terveydenhuollossa, but it is unclear if they completed a degree in this field.
