Michele De Marchi

Director, IC Design at SynSense

Michele De Marchi has worked in a variety of roles since 2010. From 2010 to 2016, Michele was a Research Engineer and Ph.D. candidate at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, where they designed and fabricated Silicon Nanowire based transistor devices. In 2011, Michele became the Treasurer of Club Montagne EPFL, where they led a team that increased the Club's membership by 600% over three years, represented the Club when discussing funding from EPFL academic affairs office, and managed a 25'000CHF annual budget. From 2016 to 2020, Michele worked at ESPROS Photonics Corporation as a R&D Senior Technology Engineer and R&D Semiconductor Technology Engineer. Finally, since 2020, Michele has been at SynSense as an IC Design Manager, Staff IC Design Engineer, and Senior IC Design Engineer.

Michele De Marchi's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Università degli Studi di Udine (2004-2007), a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Università degli Studi di Udine (2007-2010), a Graduate Integrated Diploma of Excellence in Scientific studies from Scuola Superiore dell'Università degli Studi di Udine (2004-2010), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nanoelectronics from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) (2010-2015). Additionally, Michele De Marchi spent one year abroad with AFS Intercultural Programs from 2002-2003.
