Alex Hennebry

Alex’s role is to provide R & D solutions to support Quality, Manufacturing, and Product Development functions. He and his team create solutions to assess the quality, efficacy, and utility of Synthase products. Central to this is product trialing, where the R & D team lead the trialing and testing of product both here and offshore, supporting the commercial team to give the products the best chance of success.

With a keen interest in biotechnology, the Synthase technology ‘immediately captured my interest’, when looking for opportunities nearing the completion of his postdoctoral fellowship. Awarded his Ph.D. by Waikato University in 2014, Alex has 15yrs experience in NZ CRIs and started with Synthase in 2016.

Alex brings sound scientific and experimental biology experience to the team, a team he describes as ‘highly skilled, cover a broad range of scientific disciplines and are superb at problem-solving. Collaboration, external relationships, and perspective are also important, and he enjoys being involved in this aspect of Science, it’s important to test yourself.
