Chris Smyrniotis

Chris Smyrniotis, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of quality control and technical operations. They are currently serving as the Director of Quality Control Operations at Synthego Corporation since April 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Quality Control at Alveo Technologies from April 2022 to April 2023 and Senior Manager of Quality Control from June 2021 to April 2022. They also worked at Zoetis Inc. as a Senior Technical Production Manager from December 2020 to June 2021 and as a Technical Production Manager from May 2020 to December 2020. Before Zoetis, they worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Technical & Formulations Supervisor from August 2019 to May 2020 and as a Scientist III in Technical Operations from August 2018 to August 2019. They have also worked at ARK Diagnostics, Inc. as a Senior Development Scientist from March 2017 to August 2018. Prior to that, they had a role at Theranos as a Senior Scientist from January 2016 to March 2017, where they were responsible for monitoring device and process performance, creating automated data analysis scripts, and contributing to regulatory filings. They started their career as a High School Biology & ELD Science Teacher at Teach For America from June 2007 to June 2009.

Chris Smyrniotis, PhD began their education journey in 2004 at the University of California, Berkeley where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Biology. Chris attended the institution from 2004 to 2007. Following this, they continued their studies at Alliant International University-San Francisco Bay from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a Master of Arts in Education in the field of Secondary Education and Teaching. Lastly, they pursued their doctoral degree at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2009 to 2014, specializing in Chemistry.
