Darrian Newman has worked as a Research Assistant at Colorado School of Mines from January 2020 to May 2022. Under Dr. Nanette Boyle, they utilized genetic engineering, analytical chemistry, and computational biology to analyze and modify cyanobacterial systems for enhanced production of chemical feedstocks. Their efforts have resulted in the publication of two peer-reviewed papers and a thesis titled "Advancing Cyanobacterial Production of Sustainable Chemical Feedstocks."

Currently, Darrian Newman holds the position of Senior Research Associate at Viridos, starting in May 2022.

Darrian Newman completed a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a Biological Track and a Minor in Biomedical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. This education was obtained from 2016 to 2019. Subsequently, Darrian pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, which was completed from 2020 to 2021.
