Koki Shimada

Koki Shimada has worked for two companies, SyntheticGestalt and Capy Inc. In 2018, they became the CEO of SyntheticGestalt. From 2012 to 2018, they were the Co-Founder and CTO of Capy Inc., where they developed mobile-friendly and frustration-free CAPTCHAs in Python and JavaScript, a reputation database system and a risk-based authentication system utilising deep learning, and a cloud computing infrastructure. Koki also directed internal and external development teams and developed and maintained a strong international network of investors, executives, and engineers.

Koki Shimada began their educational journey in 2008 when they earned a Bachelor of Economics from Kyoto University in the field of Business Administration. In 2016, they obtained a Master of Research from UCL in Modelling Biological Complexity. In 2017, they began a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science at UCL, but dropped out before completion. Additionally, in 2015, Koki Shimada was a graduate of the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator and in 2010, they obtained a TOGAF® 9 Certification from The Open Group.
