Anja van der Heijden

Anja van der Heijden is a Drug Master File Manager at Synthon since January 2021, with a diverse background in research and education. Prior to this role, Anja took a sabbatical from October 2019 to December 2020 to pursue a passion for nature, including hiking the Himalayas and exploring Japan. Anja's academic career includes serving as a Guest Researcher at Leiden University, where responsibilities included teaching and assisting PhD students, as well as conducting a multidisciplinary PhD project on light-activatable anticancer compounds, culminating in a thesis defense on October 1, 2019. Anja also held various positions at Leiden University, from Lab Chief to Teaching Assistant, and has experience in research exchanges at the University of Oregon and University of Nottingham. Anja holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from Leiden University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Radboud University.
