Alex Cory is a board member at SynTouch. Prior to that, they were the CEO of Magna Transportation Group and FreeConference.com (dba Global Conference Partners). Alex was recruited by American Capital to replace the founder and transform a small, audio conferencing service into a market leader in a broad range of conferencing services for small/medium enterprises. Under their leadership, they increased revenue from $12 million to more than $20 million per year, while absorbing a drop in rates (due to FCC actions) from 2.7 cents per minute to about a penny. Alex also grew conference calling volume from about 400 million to 1.5 billion minutes per year and built new premium services to grow subscription revenues to about $5 mm annually. In addition, they transformed marketing by reducing online customer acquisition costs from $32 to $12 through upgrade of SEO/SEM programs (marketing budget of about $1 million annually), building an email marketing program and viral referral-based marketing initiatives, and relaunching the existing website and launching two new product websites plus a corporate site. The core and new product sites were top 5 Google search results within 12 months. Alex also redesigned products and services by upgrading existing product and user interface to improve usability and support introduction of premium services; creating outlook widget; and introducing new brands and products targeting enterprise markets.
