Hind Bakour

HQ Coordinator Of Cbhfa Project at Syrian Arab Red Crescent

Hind Bakour is a seasoned health professional with extensive experience in public health and epidemiology. Currently serving as the HQ Coordinator of the Community-Based Health Financing Approach (CBHFA) project at the Syrian Arab Red Crescent since April 2017, Bakour previously worked as a doctor in mobile health units from 2014 to 2017. A former Head of the Department of Malaria and Parasitic Diseases at the Syrian Ministry of Health from 2002 to 2011, Bakour also held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Department of Epidemiological Studies and represented the Syrian Arab Republic in various WHO conferences. Additional roles include Director of Malaria, Leishmaniasis, and Schistosomiasis Program during an affiliation with the Syrian Ministry of Health and WHO from 2006 to 2011. Starting with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Damascus University (1985-1993), Bakour later earned a Master of Public Health from Damascus University and WHO (2001-2002).

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) is a Syrian humanitarian None Profit Organization. The society was founded in 1942, and admitted to the International Committee of the Red Cross in 1946. The SARC has 14 branches and 84 sub-branches all over Syria. based on volunteers, SARC has around 11,000 Trained Volunteers providing services in First Aid, First Aid Training, Disaster Response & relief, psycho-social support, health services, water and sanitation based on the fundamental principles of Humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, unity, voluntary service and universality.
