Iréne started their career in 1985 as a Socialkonsulent at Arbetsmarknadsinstitutet, where they worked until 1995. Iréne then joined Nora kommun as a personalutvecklare, providing support to managers in personnel matters and leading projects on psychosocial issues in the workplace. In 2002, they became the Personaladministrativ chef at Karlskoga kommun, responsible for interpreting labor laws, supporting managers in difficult personnel cases, and implementing individual salary systems. From 2006 to 2008, they served as the Förhandlingschef at Upplands Väsby kommun, overseeing salary policies and negotiation processes. Iréne continued their career as a Personalchef at Täby kommun from 2008 to 2015, where they worked on strategic matters for the whole municipal organization, managed the personnel department, and supported approximately 110 managers in implementing personnel policies.
