Vinh Q. Lam, PhD has a long and varied work experience. In 1996, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at San Francisco State University, where they synthesized and analyzed phosphoamidate and phosphonamidothionate derivatives of glutamic acid as potential inhibitors to glutamate carboxypeptidases. In 1999, they were a Summer Undergraduate Researcher at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. In 2000, they were a Graduate Student at Loyola University Chicago. In 2011, they were a Postdoctoral Scientist at Applied Biomics, Inc. From 2012 to 2019, they were a Sr. Research Associate at The Scripps Research Institute - Florida campus, where their goal was to interrogate and understand the mechanism of action of various peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG) modulators. Since 2019, they have been an Applications Scientist / Sales / TechSupport and Sr. Application Scientist / TechSupport at BioChain Institute, Inc., where they provide product support, tech support, consultation, and competitive pricing to researchers and scientists in the areas of histopathology, diagnostic kits, liquid biopsy, extraction/purification automation, genomic DNA, total protein and total RNA from various tissues, cDNA, and biospecimen sample collection to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Since 2022, they have been the Associate Director of Marketing at System Biosciences.
Vinh Q. Lam, PhD began their educational journey at San Francisco State University, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry in 2000. Vinh Q. then continued their education at Loyola University Chicago, where they were a PhD candidate in Chemistry from 2000 to 2003. Finally, they completed their PhD in Chemistry at the University of Illinois Chicago in 2006.
