Martin Vethamuthu has a strong background in research and development, with extensive experience in the fragrance and consumer care industry. Martin is currently the Director of Research and Development at Sytheon, where they are responsible for leading and managing the R&D department. Prior to this, they worked at Firmenich Inc as the Global Technical Director, overseeing the development of aircare and consumer care formulations. During their time at Solvay Research and Innovation, they held the position of Senior Principal Scientist and played a key role in the development of sustainable bio-polymers, surfactants, and flavor ingredients. Before that, Martin worked at Ashland Inc as a Principal Scientist and Innovation Portfolio Manager, where they focused on developing innovative applications in personal care, health care, and nutrition. With their diverse experience and expertise, Martin Vethamuthu has made significant contributions to the field of research and development.
Martin Vethamuthu obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Savitribai Phule Pune University from 1981 to 1984. Martin then pursued a Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry from the same university from 1985 to 1987. Continuing their academic journey, Martin Vethamuthu completed their PhD in Physical Chemistry from Uppsala University, studying from 1990 to 1995.
In 1996, they enrolled at the University of Delaware, where they focused on Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Physical Chemistry. Martin successfully completed their degree in Physical Chemistry in 1998.
Furthermore, Martin Vethamuthu has obtained additional certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2006, they received Global Project Leadership Training from Unilever in London. Martin also attended the Kepner Tregoe Project Management Workshop provided by Kepner-Tregoe, securing the certification in June 2016.
