Gayle Goldsmith is a general practice attorney with over 30 years of experience in litigation, is trained in collaborative law and was a Certified Mediator from 1999 – 2020. In addition to a law degree, Gayle has a Master of Environmental Science from Miami University (OH) and a Master of Environmental Law from Vermont Law School, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
For over forty (40) years, she has been an environmental advocate/activist with community groups and governmental entities. She is a founding board member and the current chair of North Carolina Climate Solutions Coalition, which works to combat climate change through a transition to clean renewable energy, support of green jobs and other initiatives. Gayle is currently on the board of International Human Rights Consortium (IHRC) as the Director of Global Stewardship where she has been attending events at the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
Gayle co-founded and continues as a member of Temple Emanuel’s Environmental Movement (TEEM), which has been hosting a monthly documentary film/speaker series since 2007. TEEM won the “FAIN Award” in 2011 for their work. Gayle was also a board member and president of the board of Yadkin Riverkeeper. She was a board member of PEA (Piedmont Environmental Alliance) where she focused on presentations and demonstrations for the annual earth day fairs. Gayle never works on these issues alone and recognizes the need for all of us to work together to make a difference.
